Footnotes
ZAKAT was sent hard from the gate, tracked the pace on the outside, was given his cue on the turn, gained to make an outside bid in the four path into upper stretch, took the lead while remaining on his inside lead outside the eighth-pole, continued on his inside lead in the final furlong and held under strong urging. ARAUCANO broke out and brushed with a foe, chased the pace from third, dropped back some near the nine-sixteenths pole, went around the turn in the three then four path, gained in the five path into the stretch, chased the leader on the outside into the final furlong, came out some near the sixteenth-pole and missed while able to get the place. SENOR PONCHO was urged along off the pace, saved ground on the turn, came off the rail in the stretch, gained into the final furlong, moved out late and got up for the show. AERATE was ridden along well back in the field, went around the turn in the two path, brushed with a rival passing the three-sixteenths pole, was driven into the stretch in the three path, gained into the final furlong, moved out lane and finished with good energy to get a share of fourth. HENRY'S HOPE went to the front then opened a clear advantage, raced inside to the two path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the three path, lost the advantage to the winner outside the furlong marker and weakened but held a share of fourth. CYBERBEAST brushed with a foe at the start, was urged along towards the rear, rounded the turn in the three path, brushed with a rival passing the five-sixteenths pole, moved to the four path outside the quarter-pole, spun into the stretch in the five path then shifted further out and was no factor. GREY ACE was ridden along off the pace, dropped from the five path to the two path early on the turn, was driven into the stretch in the four path, moved out near the furlong marker and lacked the needed kick. GOOD AS HE GETS was ridden along well back on the far outside, went around most of the turn in the four path then moved to the five path, spun into the stretch in the seven path and failed to threaten. MY MAN MAGOO brushed with foes on both sides at the start then was taken up while squeezed back, angled in at the rear, saved ground on the turn and never reached contention. STANLEY CAT was ridden along off the pace, went around the turn in the four then five path, turned into the stretch in the six path and failed to respond.
