CORRUPTION established a forward position early, dropped from the four path to the three path while taken under a hold early on the first turn, moved several paths further out in the course after turning into the stretch, tucked in behind the leader before reaching the wire for the first time, tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid near the nine-sixteenths pole, took the lead with three furlongs to run, went around the final turn in the two path, was asked under threat coming to the quarter-pole, responded well when put to a left-handed crop in upper stretch, shook off the runner-up inside the three-sixteenths pole, remained under the crop until inside the sixteenth-pole, was placed under a hand-ride while much the best late then pulled up in heat-distress after being brought back in front of the grandstand and was walked off. FUERTEVENTURA settled on the inside, moved closer with five furlongs to run, came off the rail leaving the backstretch, was asked in the two then three path on the final turn, gained to make a bid outside the quarter-pole, battled outside the winner under a drive in upper stretch, lost touch with that foe outside the furlong marker and proved no match but was well clear for the place. SUMMER CAUSE went around the first turn in the two path, was rated off the pace, rounded the second turn in the two then three path, was urged along on the backstretch then roused for more with a half-mile to run, chased in the three then four path on the far turn, turned into the stretch under a drive and came up empty while best of the rest. MASTER PIECE (CHI) was urged early on the outside then angled in nearing the first turn, settled at the back while inside to the two path, was roused near the half-mile pole, went around the final turn in the two path, turned into the stretch under the crop and failed to respond. BOURBON DAY was reserved on the outside in the two to three path while given cover, came under urging near the seven-sixteenths pole, was ridden along in the four then five path on the far turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and also failed to respond. OTELLO went to the front, became rank under restraint while inside to the two path on the first turn, tugged hard on the bit, showed the way on the inside thereafter, was asked inside the half-mile pole, lost the lead with three furlongs to run and faded.
