Footnotes
V CRUIZER hustled from the start, cut the pace four paths off the inside down the backstretch flanked by two rivals pressing the issue, tucked to the two path through the turn and came under coaxing near the quarter pole, swung three wide into upper stretch set down for the drive with NOGUCHI getting briefly on near even terms, then edged clear under a drive to prevail. DISCOTHEQUE stumbled at the start breaking on top despite it, chased seven paths off the inside down the backstretch and then three to four wide through the turn under coaxing from the seven-sixteenths, swung four wide for home and ran on to procure the place honors. FIDDLING FELIX chased seven paths off the inside down the backstretch before tucking four then three wide through the turn ridden along from the seven-sixteenths, went seven wide into upper stretch, kept on to the wire. NOGUCHI coaxed from the start, pressed the pace along the inside first from the two path and then along the rail, came under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, bid to get on near even terms taking the inside route at the quarter pole, then got shaken off by the top one and weakened in the late stages. CAREER RISK coaxed from the gate, chased along the inside and then just off the inside under a ride from the five-sixteenths, cornered just off the inside into upper stretch, weakened. RED SEA was unprepared for the start when tossing his head as the latch was sprung, chased eight paths off the inside down the backstretch before darting to the two path at the half mile pole, angled five wide into upper stretch and tired. FLEETING FREE pressed the pace from the six path down the backstretch, tucked three wide into the turn and came under coaxing midway, began to backtrack and was checked in tight between rivals going by on each side at the quarter pole while in the three path, then got eased home through to the finish.
