KIGALI got bumped at the start by OUTTAWATERBURY, who broke outwards, led early on before being displaced on the front past the stands the initial time and settled tracking along the inside from just off the pace, remained patiently handled and briefly tipped to the two path when the new leader began to stop into the far and final turn and tipped back inside midway, came under coaxing near the quarter pole, spun three wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command just inside the three-sixteenths and inched clear under a drive to prevail. SALTED CARMEL saved ground in pursuit from mid pack, dropped back to near the rear of the field, came under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, ran on willingly to procure the place honors. WAR OFFICER two to three wide in pursuit, came under encouragement at the five-sixteenths, angled six to seven wide into upper stretch, kept on to the finish. BRIGADE COMMANDER brushed the off side stall at the start, chased inside early on and then two to three wide thereafter, swung four wide for home, kept on to the wire. COGNOSCENTI just off the inside early on, chased four wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths, angled five wide into upper stretch and improved position to the end. THE PADDOCK PASTOR three then two wide through the first turn, pulled keen past the stands into the second turn and raced three then two wide in closest aim of the leader before taking over near the half mile pole, showed the way through the final turn under urging near the quarter pole, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, got collared just inside the three-sixteenths and weakened. OUTTAWATERBURY struck the off side stall at the start and then bumped KIGALI, chased two to three wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths, spun three wide into upper stretch and weakened. ARCTIC OUTBREAK chased along the inside under a ride from three furlongs out, took the inside route into upper stretch, made no impact. DILLINGER away to an awkward start, bounced around between foes briefly, raced three then two wide through the first turn before emerging into upper stretch the first time five paths off the inside, took over command with seven and a half furlongs to go and showed the way until yielding the front nearing the half mile pole, retreated through the far and final turn under urging from the three-eighths marker and faltered in the stretch, then got attended to on track with heat distress and was vetted and cooled down, then walked off under his own power.
