Footnotes
TED NOFFEY was urged along on the outside, chased in the four path on the turn, made a bid at the five-sixteenths pole, took the lead under a drive in upper stretch, inched clear under a left-handed crop near the sixteenth-pole and held under steady urging. CRITERIA made light contact with foes at the start, was well placed just off the pace, went around most of the turn in the two path while dipping closer to the rail briefly near the five-sixteenths pole, was roused in the three path into the stretch, angled out while asked for his best inside the three-sixteenths pole, chased the winner on the outside in the final furlong and finished willingly for the place. LEGAL GAMBIT settled on the far outside, was roused in the five path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, kept on in pursuit of the winner in the final furlong and willingly earned the show. TAGERMEEN bumped lightly with a foe at the start, went to the front then was well rated while showing the way, moved from the inside to the two path on the turn, was asked nearing the quarter-pole, lost the advantage to the winner in upper stretch, battled with that foe until inside the furlong marker then weakened. ABRIGADO was bumped hard at the start, pressed the pace on the outside, vied in the three path on the turn and tired. GRITTINESS was bumped hard at the start and forced strongly into another opponent then squeezed back, was urged along while well behind the rest of the field, raced inside for most of the turn then moved to the two path and was no factor. AMBASSADOR BLUE made light contact with an opponent at the start, climbed some while off the pace, went around most of the turn in the three path then moved to the four path and failed to respond. BLINGING IT BACK veered out at the start then bumped hard with a foe, was taken in hand off heels while tossing his head early, tossed his head more while reserved off the pace, moved closer with a half-mile to run, was hard held along the rail into the turn, remained under vigorous restraint until near the three-eighths pole, was let out around the five-sixteenths pole then asked some near the quarter-pole and faltered.
