Footnotes
TABEGUACHE was hustled from the gate, contested the pace on the inside of a foe while in hand, shook clear late on the far turn, responded well when asked once straightened for the drive then drew off under a strong hand-ride, came under a right-handed crop outside the furlong marker, widened into the final sixteenth, was given two pops of a left-handed crop shortly thereafter and proved much best under strong urging. CURLIN'S MALIBU bobbled at the start, was eased back between foes nearing the first turn, dropped from the three path to the two path early on that bend, was urged along near the back, moved up quickly outside the five-eighths pole then made a bid between horses, checked while squeezed back around the nine-sixteenths pole, came under a strong hand-ride shortly thereafter, went around the far turn in the three then four path, turned into the stretch in the five path and safely secured the place. CASTLE ISLAND was hustled from the gate, contested the pace in the two path, vied between foes starting about the five-eighths pole, was asked late on the backstretch, vied in the two path on the far turn, dropped back coming to the quarter-pole, turned into the stretch under the crop and tired while best of the rest. SWAGGISH was carried out at the start while hustled, dropped from the four path to the three path on the first turn, stalked the pace on the outside, moved up outside the five-eighths pole then dropped back a bit, vied in the three path on the far turn, was given his cue inside the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back into the stretch and came up empty. GOLDEN PURCHASE broke out at the start then was hustled, raced in the four path on the first turn, settled on the outside, moved out further while getting closer with five furlongs to run, came under a strong hand-ride late on the backstretch, traveled around the far turn in the four then five path, spun into the stretch in the six path and faltered then was eased in the final furlong but walked off.
