MAKES SENSE broke out at the start, moved out while urged along off the pace, moved closer late on the backstretch, was roused in the four path on the turn, rallied in the six path into the stretch, took the lead while still on his inside lead inside the three-sixteenths pole, swapped to the proper lead inside the furlong marker and held under strong urging. RANGER BATTALION broke out and brushed the hindquarters of an opponent while off a step slow then was taken up, settled well off the pace, was roused in the two path while moving closer on the turn, rallied into upper stretch, closed well to make a bid near the sixteenth-pole, fought inside of the winner to the finish and missed while able to get the place. BEAR CLAW NECKLACE showed speed then stalked the pace,made a bid with a half-mile to run, vied in the three path on the turn, took the lead in the four path into upper stretch, lost the advantage to the winner inside the three-sixteenths pole, battled under a drive into the final sixteenth and was outfinished while clear for the show. SHIFTY GOLD was urged along towards the rear, moved in around the nine-sixteenths pole, dropped from the three path to the two path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the three path then shifted further out and failed to threaten. BOB'S CARROT was brushed in the hindquarters at the start, moved up to get the lead then showed the way, vied in the two path while asked on the turn, lost the advantage in the three path into upper stretch and tired. AERO STAR showed speed then tracked the pace on the outside, dropped back leaving the backstretch, came up empty in the five then six path on the turn and retreated then was eased in the stretch but walked off. FOLLOWING THE RACE, THE RIDER OF RANGER BATTALION LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST MAKES SENSE ALLEGING INTERFERENCE AT THE START. AFTER THE STEWARDS' REVIEW, NO CHANGE WAS MADE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH
