Footnotes
BELGIAN showed speed then was well placed just off the pace, saved ground on the turn, was given his cue inside the five-sixteenths pole, rallied to the lead at the three-sixteenths pole then came off the rail while shaking clear on his inside lead, swapped to the proper lead outside the furlong marker, was put to a right-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole and drew away under a strong drive to prove much the best. AUGUSTINIAN tracked the pace on the outside, was asked in the four path on the turn, chased into upper stretch and earned the place while no match for the winner. THROCKMORTON showed speed then went clear near the nine-sixteenths pole, dropped from the three path to the two path late on the turn, was asked coming to the quarter-pole, lost the advantage to the winner in upper stretch and tired. SILVER SNIPER was last to commence, settled at the rear then dropped well behind, moved from the three path to the two path early on the turn, remained in the two path under urging through that bend and failed to respond.
