Footnotes
CAROLINE ST. BEAT established a forward position early, saved ground on the first turn, was rated just off the pace, rounded most of the far turn in the two path while asked some, drafted just behind the leaders heels late on that bend, shifted to the three path while roused outside the quarter-pole, gained to make an outside bid into upper stretch then took the advantage, battled outside of TIM AND SAM into the final furlong, shook clear under the crop outside the sixteenth-pole, swapped back to his inside lead late and proved best under strong urging. HONOREE dropped from the four path to the two path on the first turn, settled towards the rear, was roused while moving from the two path to the four path on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the six path, had the rider lose his crop in the vicinity of the three-sixteenths pole, saw the rider pull his goggles off outside the furlong marker then dropped at least one, chased outside into the final sixteenth while flagged some with goggles to the outside and finished willingly for the place. TIM AND SAM was bumped in the hindquarters at the start then hustled, moved out into the first turn, raced in the three path on that bend, stalked the pace on the outside, turned up the pressure in the three path on the far turn, gained the advantage at the five-sixteenths pole, dropped to the two path late on that bend, turned into upper stretch under a drive, lost the advantage to the winner inside the three-sixteenths pole, battled under a drive into the final furlong and weakened but was clear for the show. JACK'S WORLD hesitated at the start and was off a step slow, moved from the two path to the three path on the first turn, settled at the rear, was roused while saving ground on the far turn, turned into the stretch in the two path, steadied behind horses at the three-sixteenths pole, moved out outside the furlong marker and improved position. NEWLYN moved around in the stall just prior to the start and was off near the rear, rounded the first turn in the three path, settled outside but with cover, was urged along in the two then three path on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the four path and lacked the needed response. STICKUPWITHOUTAGUN broke in then bumped the hindquarters of an opponent, saved ground on the first turn, settled off the pace, moved from the rail to the two path while roused on the far turn, was driven into the stretch in the three path, came in around the three-sixteenths pole and failed to respond. GENIE was hustled to the front, dropped from the two path to the inside late on the first turn, showed the way down the backstretch, was asked while inside on the far turn, lost the advantage at the five-sixteenths pole and stopped then was eased in the final furlong but walked off. VERBINDEN was hustled from the gate, dropped from the four path to the two path on the first turn, moved out early on the backstretch then settled outside without cover, dropped back into the far turn, went around that bend in the three then four path, came into the stretch in the five path and faltered then was also eased in the final furlong but walked off.
