Footnotes
PROBLEMATICA bumped with a rival at the start, went to the front then showed the way with a clear advantage, controlled the action in the two path on the turn, responded well when asked turning into upper stretch, was put to a right-handed crop at the furlong marker and proved much the best under steady urging. SPIRITUAL LADY broke out at the start, tracked the pace on the outside, tucked into the two path for the run around the turn, was given her cue at the five-sixteenths pole, tipped to the three path outside the quarter-pole, chased the winner under a drive in the stretch and was second best. EQUUS broke out then was corrected by the rider, settled in third position, saved ground on the turn, was roused at the five-sixteenths pole, turned into upper stretch under a drive and lacked the needed response while best of the rest. CHAMPAGNE SURPRISE bumped with a rival at the start, dropped back early then was hard ridden at the rear, saved ground on the turn, came out to the four path into upper stretch and was no factor. TROUBLED LUCK settled outside under some urging, was roused for more in the four path on the turn, spun into upper stretch in the five path and failed to respond.
