Footnotes
DUNE ROAD allowed to settle in the early stages, made a steady advance while outside of runners through the backstretch run, was roused four then three wide into the second turn, chased BOUNTEOUS into upper stretch, rallied at the furlong marker and dueled BOUNTEOUS to the final sixteenth, wore down the game runner-up in deep stretch and determinedly prevailed in the final strides. BOUNTEOUS settled three to four wide into the first turn, made a four wide middle move along the backstretch run, vied for the lead at the half-mile pole then battled into the second turn, took command nearing the quarter pole and showed the way into the stretch, met the bid of DUNE ROAD at the furlong grounds, dueled that determined rival to the final sixteenth, was gamely bested in deep stretch and was well clear of the rest for place. GUN RIGHT chased the early pace from between runners, was well placed into the backstretch run and tracked the decent pace heading to the half-mile marker, saved ground to the second turn and ran in pursuit nearing the quarter pole, outkicked into the stretch, was no match for the top pair in the final furlong, stayed on into deep stretch and was clear at the finish for third. GENERAL BATTLE AXE stalked the early pace three deep, was well placed while between rivals nearing the half-mile marker, chased three wide to the second turn, lost ground at the quarter marker and weakened in the stretch drive. GRAND DANIEL hard sent away from the start, assumed early command from between runners into the first turn and set a decent pace into the backstretch, carved out moderate fractions while prompted to the half-mile marker, was overtaken into the second turn, chased BOUNTEOUS into upper stretch, could not muster the needed response in the drive and faded in the final furlong. TIZ A BEAST prominent early, contested the decent pace three wide into the first turn, prompted GRAND DANIEL into the backstretch run, vied between runners nearing the half-mile marker, lost position into the second turn and tired in the stretch drive. LEOPARDI took back off of the decent early pace, saved ground into the backstretch run and tracked the pace heading to the second turn, lost ground nearing the quarter marker, swung widest into upper stretch and came up empty in the drive. OVERHAUL fractious prior to the start, was away in good order, tracked the early pace from inside of runners, chased the decent pace from between runners heading to the half-mile marker, outrun to the second turn, was eased through the stretch and walked off under her own power. HAY MOON settled off of the early pace while never far back, tracked five wide into the first turn, maintained a wide path through the backstretch run, chased five wide to the second turn, could not keep pace nearing the quarter marker, stopped in the stretch, was eased to the wire and walked off under her own power.
