Footnotes
INITFORTHELOVE broke well and was up with the early leaders through the first turn then settled back into a tracking position a few lengths behind the pace, was given the queue passing the three furlong marker then set down at the quarter, opened up a lead at the top of the stretch and held clear under steady handling and right handed urging, increasing the margin in the final furlong. BRYCE CANYON was allowed to settle from the break then tracked near the rear of the field down the backstretch, launched a bid from the seven-sixteenths pole, circled the field four to five wide, was just off the lead at the top of the stretch but could not reel in the winner, to task and finished well clear of the third horse. SWING LOW was devoid of early speed then raced way behind the field through the early stages, started a sustained run from the half mile pole, continued through the stretch and gained third while no threat to the top two. MAKIZAN broke outward at the start and started a bit of a chain reaction to the outside, then was sent three to four wide through the first turn, advanced steadily down the backstretch into contention, launched a mild bid from the three furlong pole then took advantage of a clear two path into the stretch, finished well to improve but could not summon a winning kick. BURNING MAN got pinballed and took up shortly after the break, then settled along the rail before the first turn, mildly advanced down the backstretch before going into an all-out drive from the seven-sixteenths pole, produced a grinding finish while being kept to task but could not find a winning kick. REDISUR was outrun through the early stages then unable to threaten. PICKFORD trailed early rally a bit late three wide through the stretch passed a couple of tired ones. NATIVE THUNDER was sent for the early lead, opened up on the first turn, went clear down the backstretch then was overtaken at the quarter pole and stopped in the stretch. TIZ A PRINCE showed good speed but was caught four wide through the clubhouse turn, angled to the rail when clear then settled mid pack while advancing steadily down the backstretch, saved ground through the far turn then was checked hard between poles in upper stretch and lost all chance. BANDITOFTHEPRAIRIE pushed for forward position from the break went three wide through the first turn, stalked the runaway leader three wide through the early stages, moved up to challenge on the far turn, came under a stiff drive from the quarter pole but did not go on, was overtaken and had nothing to offer late. ERIC THE SALESMAN was hustled from the gate but unable to contest the early pace, raced mid-pack in the strung out field then steadily faded after going a half mile. RUNNING RIGHT BY U tracked inside behind the pace to the half-mile pole then could not keep up and was not a factor the rest of the way.
