Footnotes
ESCAPE KEY assumed the early lead under a tight hold, was joined by DIAL HIM UP passing the stands the first time then was then left alone to dictate the pace through the early stages, quickened on the far turn opened up in the stretch and easily held off a slew of challengers in the final yards. SPECIALAGENTJONSON unhurried from the brea, saved ground throughout, advanced steadily through the far turn then produced a strong rally up the rail but could not get to the winner. MISSION MIKE settled mid-pack along the rail down the backstretch and through the far turn, tipped out to the three path for the stretch run, finished willingly but ran out of time. OFFICER DERICK got good inside position behind the pacesetters, crept closer heading to the far turn, responded when put into a drive with just over a quarter mile to run, finished well under a drive but came up short. DIAL HIM UP was sent along to press ESCAPE KEY before turning on to the main course, was content to sit in a stalking position down the backstretch and into the far turn then was unable to go on with that foe when the pace quickened, chased into the stretch and was outkicked late. FREE RAMBLING MAN was allowed to settle into stride and was last onto the main course, trailed while saving ground to the far turn then tried, to rally late but was unable to make an impact. SPECTACULAR LUCK was allowed to settle, raced three wide onto the main course then bided time in the back half of the field, started to run on from the three furlong marker, still three to four wide through the far turn but could not sustain the bid enough to be a threat. NOBLE STAR raced at the head of the third flank then started to run on into the far turn two to three wide, steadied briefly in upper stretch while lugging in then finished evenly. READY TO REIGN raced under cover on the rail through the early stages then tipped out a path heading into the far turn, was boxed in until the stretch then lacked a winning kick once clear. INTOLERABLE lagged at the rear through the early stages two wide, swung out nine wide for the stretch run but could not make an impact. ADMIRAL'S WAVE was held up in the early stages and raced under cover down the back stretch, started to run on from the three furlong pole then tipped out five to six wide into the stretch but lacked a rally. IRISH STONE settled just behind the early leaders, raced close while in the two and three path to the far turn then came up empty in the stretch.
