Footnotes
ON THE MOUNT set a pressured pace on the inside, then was headed nearing the quarter pole and dug in gamely in the lane and edged clear to prove best under a drive. CANDYTOWN was rated along two to three wide, made a four wide move nearing the quarter pole to vie for command on the outside, came five wide off the bend but hung in the lane, clearly second best. MAD HOUSE checked into the first turn, then checked again on the first turn and moved out to track the leaders three to four wide, then settled into stride on the backstretch, made a three wide bid nearing the quarter pole to vie for command in between rivals leaving the quarter pole but weakened in the final furlong, stayed on for the show award. VAN GINKEL was reserved early on the outside, three to four wide on the far turn and came four wide into the lane and had a belated rally. PERSISTEN was settled back early, two path on the turn and came three wide into the lane and had no rally. MARUVY pressed the early pace on the outside, two wide on the far turn and tired in the lane. MCCORVEY was off slowly, settled back to trail early and failed to menace. THE HOPE TRAIN broke in a tangle and was off slowly, then was keen and ran up on the leaders on the first turn and had to check by the six furlong peg, then chased the pace on the inside and stopped on the far turn.
