Footnotes
NAKED EYE was reserved early stalking outside, advanced swiftly and willingly outside four to five wide on the turn taking the lead at the three-sixteenths, found a resolute opponent inside and dueled with that one and held the top prize under steady handling. CUE THE DUCKBOATS pressed the pace, took the lead past the seven-sixteenths putting away the inside pacesetter, was challenged turning for home and headed in upper stretch, fought back in mid-stretch drawing nearly even yet again but couldn't match strides. REALITY STAR broke just a bit awkwardly, lacked early speed, fanned six wide leaving the turn, drifted in a hair in the stretch, was best of the rest. SUNSET EXPRESS brushed with a rival at the start, moved out off the rail in pursuit behind the leaders off the fence, failed to rally. LA VECCHIA SIGNORA chased from outside three to four wide, was ridden along past the half then put to even further encouragement past the three-eighths, lost ground on the leaders and shifted in at the quarter pole, failed to threaten thereafter. PASS FAILED lacked early speed, came out five wide for the stretch, was never near enough to threaten. SMOOTHLY brushed at the start, set a pressured pace inside, gave way. TAPIT SMILES altered outside runners soon after the start, was well back and showed little.
