Footnotes
GRAFFITI WRITER tucked in stalking the leading pair from just off the inside, had plenty of room saving some ground near but off the rail through the far turn and made a bid in mid-stretch, took a narrow advantage and held a rival at bay. THE NOMINEES ARE lacked early speed, switched out early, advanced outside on the far turn fanning seven wide into upper stretch, rallied strongly despite drifting in to bid near the sixteenth pole but was denied. MR. FUNTASTICO settled off the pace two to three wide, came out six wide turning for home, was carried in through mid-stretch, ran on. TIZ FERVOR was close up stalking in hand, advanced on the far turn, took the lead at the quarter pole, was overtaken nearing the sixteenth pole and lacked the needed late kick. ZEUS LIGHTNING broke a step slowly, was mostly two to four wide, advanced some into upper stretch, came out at that juncture and ran on. TWELVE TREASURES was forwardly-positioned shifting in early, fought the rider a bit keen to go on and edged closer up the backstretch, continued in range three to four deep and put to urging by the quarter pole, faded in the stretch. PUDDING LANE quickly moved to the fore, edged clear and set the pace inside, was overtaken late on the far turn, gave way in the stretch. DAVID H broke outwardly, was forwardly-placed in pursuit outside about four wide, stalked mid-pack up the backstretch, dropped back and faded. RED SKY MORNING saved ground inside toward the rear till the top of the stretch, was not a factor. MADCAP was caught wide in the early going racing toward the rear three to five deep, failed to threaten.
