MR. SWEETS showed the way under pressure from a pair of rivals to the turn, dueled with MY PAL MAX around the bend and into the lane, put that rival away midstretch and stayed clear to the wire. MY PAL MAX pressed three deep to the three-eighths pole, moved up on even terms outside MR. SWEETS around the bend, fought to the eighth pole, then could not match strides with the winner midstretch, drifted in late and held second. WE CALLED SOL chased from inside, dropped out of range on the turn, cut the corner into the lane, finished well along the fence but had his path taken by MY PAL MAX and had to check late. HIGHS N LOWS away quickest then pressured the leader from the between rivals, could not stay with the top pair past the three-eighths pole but remained in range two then three wide to the stretch and weakened. THE RIDER ABOARD WE CALLED SOL LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST MY PAL MAX FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE LATE IN THE STRETCH. THERE WAS ALSO A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE SAME INCIDENT. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS RULED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
