SANDPIPER MEMORIES hopped at the start and trailed in the early stages, went two wide into the turn, made progress around the bend before having to alter out at the quarter pole, closed in and drew alongside the top pair past the eighth pole, dueled with SOPHIA'S STORM late and dug in to best the runner-up. SOPHIA'S STORM got crowded leaving the gate, chased between rivals then in the two path on the turn, lacked room behind the leader entering the lane, found an opening and challenged from the fence in upper stretch, dueled with SANDPIPER MEMORIES late and got outkicked. RITABOOK dueled from outside then vied between up the backstretch, battled outside a rival past the five-sixteenths pole, took full control with a furlong remaining, clung to a short lead entering the final furlong and yielded between rivals in the final sixteenth. RED ELEANOR tracked along the inside, tipped out at the quarter pole, moved back inside in the lane and flattened late. SOLAIR chased three to four wide and weakened under left then right handed urging. DELIZIOSA broke a bit slow, went up to vie for the lead three deep, lost touch with inner rivals at the five-sixteenths pole and weakened down the lane. ST. JOE JET fought for the lead from inside, was eased out of the race with a quarter mile remaining, pulled up in the stretch and was transported off the track via equine ambulance.
