ROME'S CONQUEST pressed the pace from outside, lost touch leaving the backstretch, drew alongside the leader again on the turn, dueled past the five-sixteenths pole, put HABANA BOY away in upper stretch under right handed urging, drew off into the last sixteenth and was in hand late. HABANA BOY stepped to the front and showed the way inside ROME'S CONQUEST early, inched clear from that rival late on the backstretch, took pressure from that one again on the turn, dueled to the top of the lane, yielded to the winner in upper stretch and was clearly second best. ACQUISITIVE was hard to load into the starting gate, bumped outer rival at the start, got crowded shortly after, became rank while chasing three deep between rivals, moved into the two path on the turn, drifted out into the lane, could not produce a bid but finished a clear third. PRINSIPITO stalked four deep to the turn, moved into the three path around the bend, got floated out a bit entering the lane and weakened. BLUE MARBLE stalked the speed inside a trio of rivals, lost ground through the turn and weakened in the drive. D'ORO LEMON fractious in the gate, stalked between runners in the early going, fell out of range while asked in the two path on the turn and faded further in the stretch run. MUSIC JEWEL got bumped by ACQUISITIVE leaving the gate, trailed up the backstretch, lagged behind a bit off the rail to the stretch, drifted out some from left handed urging and was never involved.
