BUFF BAY was hard ridden after the start inside a rival to take command down the backside, began to inch away from the pesky other speed foe midturn and while under a vigorous ride in the stretch stubbornly dug in to hold safe for the front running tally. FANNY M prompted the pace scenario on the outside in the early going, chased the winner still on the outside around the bend, fought on determinedly chasing the winner down the lane but could not close the gap at the finish line. NO MALARKEY sat alone keeping a close eye on the front pair watching them go at it to themselves down the backstretch, tried but could not narrow the margin on the lead twosome on the turn and finished up willingly to the wire to hold for the show money in the end. SARATOGA EMPRESS (GB) was situated on the rail near the rear having no early foot in the beginning, lost ground to others and was relegated to the back through the turn, rallied smartly inside foes in the stretch run and was just denied in a tight photo for the show ward at the wire. SULTRY SOPHIE had a stalking trip in the middle of the pack on the outside down the backstretch, made little impact but did keep pace throughout the bend, dueled for a minor role three wide in the drive but gave way in the late stages. NO VISOR was nudged along by the rider while trailing the field down the backside, made a mild turn outside passing a rival with five sixteenths to go, shifted to the four path for the drive to the wire but could not get involved.
