MANSETTI rated kindly inside while watching the top two leaders contest down the backside, patiently waited on the rail under a snug hold behind the front duo in midturn, shifted out bullying his way through four wide to have clear run straightening out for home and found another gear at the furlong marker to pull away with authority in deep stretch for the impressive late running victory. BIG VINCE had a slim lead all the while drifting out soon after the break, continued to get out travelling up top moving down the backside, dueled inside for the front around the turn, edged away for a clear advantage by upper stretch but did not have enough left late to fend off the charge by the winner in the last seventy yards. NOTORIOUS GANGSTER was unhurried finding his stride at the rear with a half mile to run, began to pick up the bit inside foes at the quarter pole, angled out gathering more speed in the eight path between runners turning for home, had to alter course slightly when coming up to tired foes at the sixteenth pole and surged with a late rush to just miss out on being the runner up. INCOMING was taken up at the start with the inside foe getting out on the break, tracked between horses in the two path along the backside in the second flight waiting for the cue to go, was pushed out by the eventual winner to be in the five path entering the lane and finished up willingly to garner a minor role in the end. WAR OF DESTINY travelled on the rail in the middle of the pack, shifted outside to commence a run with five sixteenths from home, was forced out by the inside runner to be widest in the nine path straightening out for the stretch run, could not recover and was one paced to the wire. KOKOMO was carried out while forcing the pace outside down the backstretch, took closer aim on the leader to actually poke his head in front at the midpoint of the turn, continued to be still in the mix while in the three path at the top of the lane but yielded while inside rivals in deep stretch. THUNDERING was four deep on the outside with a stalking position, lost ground to others while still outside in the three to four wide around the bend, shifted inside to the rail for the drive to the finish line but could only manage to pass a tired runner to the wire. MOST LIKELY was in tight at the break having to be checked when leaving the chute, settled in midfield between foes along the backstretch, offered a brief rally three to four wide in the second flight outside foes on the turn, shifted out to the five path for the drive but had no finish to offer in the stretch running. RIDER'S CLAIM OF FOUL AND STEWARD'S INQUIRY #5 INCOMING AGAINST #4 BIG VINCE AT THE START RESULTED IN #4 BIG VINCE BEING DISQUALIFIED AND PLACE FOURTH FOR INTERFERENCE
