Footnotes
ZIPPY GAMBLE travelled on the rail in mid-division with this short field down the backside, was asked to go after the leader with five sixteenths to go, still hard work to do making little headway on the leader turning for home while three wide, switched leads finding another gear at the furlong marker near the rail and closed smartly late for the victory. BEDTIME was away alertly setting the fractions unopposed down the back straight, continued to freewheel up top alone quickening the pace slightly around the bend, was in control at the top of the lane, stayed on the left lead with a furlong to go, drifted out under left-handed encouragement late and could not fend of the winner nearing the wire. NEENAH had a stalking role ahead of one runner in the early going, offered a mild run four wide outside challengers at the quarter pole, could not threaten the front pair down the stretch but did fight on to win the duel for third money. BONITA MUNDO trailed the field down the backstretch, caught up to the pack with a half mile remaining, kept up to runners moving inside horses through the turn and finished up evenly while losing the battle for the show award. ELLA IT IS broke out at the start, chased the frontrunner while outside a foe down the backside, was urged for more at the three eighths pole but was going the wrong way with a quarter mile left to run and wilted between foes in upper stretch.
