ROCKET RILEY emerged after the start to poke its head in front when entering the backstretch, patiently dropped back to a tracking position inside on the turn with three eighths remaining, saved all the ground keeping up with others around the bend, slipped up the fence in mid-stretch and determinedly held safe to the finish line. MAGICAL TRICK broke out getting away from the gate quickly up front on the break, then was gathered back soon after seeing the field in the early stages, made a strong move swooping around runners five wide at the quarter marker to loom boldly outside turning for home but was outkicked by the winner who took the short way around. SHAMELESS AFFAIR was in the mix between horses down the back straight, maintained a slim advantage inside on the oval, was clinging to the lead just off the fence in upper stretch but yielded to the top two finishers in the last furlong. LEGS LIKE FLATTER watched the contesting front trio in the early going, tracked the lead pair while outside having the eventual winner inside around the turn, shifted out to be four wide with a quarter mile to run and was one paced outside foes picking up a weary foe in mid-stretch. ZEENA SWIFT prompted the pace three deep outside along the backstretch, was a menacing presence outside dueling up front around the bend, drifted out slightly in the four path at the top of the lane but faded to the wire having little left for the drive.
