LUZ DE LA LUNA veered out sharply on the break, patiently was allowed to find her stride while seeing the field along the backside, began to gather momentum figuring which route to take in midturn while closing the gap, look for a seam in the two path at the top of the stretch, short through when the lane presented itself splitting foes at the eighth pole and got up in the final few jumps from a stubborn foe outside. CHROMEPLATED HEART was away alertly to be up front at the start, took back, throttling down to sit behind the lead pair into the turn, had horse edging closer to the leader with five sixteenths to go, bid three wide between challengers in upper stretch, poked her head in front at the sixteenth pole but gave way grudgingly on the outside in the late stages. OLIVIA ROSE emerged from the pace with a narrow lead at the half mile marker, shook off the outside speed foe in midturn, still was holding up top by a slim margin when entering the stretch two wide, could not find more to repel the closers at the furlong pole and just held for third money in the end. CARA CARA prompted the pace three deep in the early going, kept pace while outside in the second flight around the oval, angled out widest in the five path straightening for home and finished with some late energy to almost get up at the line for the show award. GIVE ME THE BOOTS forced the issue with horses on either side down the backstretch, chased the pacesetter outside throughout the turn, shifted out four wide between rivals for the drive to the wire but had little to offer late and gave way down the lane.
