LAST AMERICAN EXIT sat behind the lead quartet down the backside, tried to edge up on the inside going into the turn, had to be checked when in tight having little room at the three-furlong pole dropping back, rallied three wide turning for home following the leader and through the lane wore down that rival in the shadow of the wire for the win. PINE KNOLL prompted the pace in the three path between runners, hounded the pace outside in the turn, edged away taking control at the eighth pole but just could not fend off the winner in deep stretch. GAROFOLI travelled four deep, part of the group up top down the back straight, kept tabs on the leader while in the second flight outside around the bend, angled out four wide in the hunt straightened out for the drive, could not match strides with the front pair but did run on well to be a clear third at the finish line. BREAK THE SPELL was unhurried trailing the field down the backside, could not make any headway on horses running around the turn but did show some late interest to pick up tiring rivals in the final sixteenth outside to get a minor placing at the finish line. MAD DOG N JOE had a slim lead entering the backstretch between rivals, chased the frontrunner in the two path with runners on either side at the half, tracked on the fence in the second flight through the turn, made a brief move on the rail to be in the mix at the top of the stretch, shifted just outside off the stopping pacesetter at the furlong marker, had little left late and wilted in deep stretch. BOLD RELOAD broke slow at the start, then, was rushed up on the inside to take command by the half, narrowly held the lead taking the short way around the turn, was collared outside in upper stretch, had nothing left to give from his early efforts and folded on the fence down the lane.
