Footnotes
FROST BITTEN was slow intro stride trailing down the backstretch while being nudged along, started to pick up runners taking the short way around the bend at the three eighths marker, kicked into high gear on the fence straightening for home and closed with a rush late to take over the leader who was softened up by an early speed duel. GLASWEIGIAN prompted the pace on the inside, battled determinedly on the rail throughout the turn, edged away from the pesky speed foe at the furlong pole but had no answer for the winner surging inside in the final seventy yards. READY TO COLLECT narrowly dictated terms outside in the early going, battled outside for the lead around the turn, gave way up top in mid-stretch, could not finish with the top pair late but did hold on clearly for the third money at the wire. TUTTI CONTENTI settled on the rail in mid-pack in the beginning, offered a mild run with five sixteenths from home, shifted out in the five path in upper stretch and finished up one paced to garner a minor role in the end. SOL DE VERANO stalked near the rear, having only the eventual winner beaten down the backside, was going the wrong way running through the turn but did rally smartly with good intent in the final furlong closing when crossing the finish line. WILDFIRE tracked on the rail in the second flight, sat all alone measuring the contesting duo throughout the turn, angled out to be three wide in the hunt at the top of the stretch but yielded not switching leads in the final eighth of a mile. GOLDEN TEST sat outside a rival watching the engaged duo down the back straight, backed away abruptly midpoint around the turn and was not persevered with galloping home to the wire.
