Footnotes
GIZMO'S B F F was eager early on, pulling the rider on the rail to press the pace at the start, was checked inside the leader at the five furlong marker, quickly recouped to hound the pacesetter outside on the turn, was encouraged for more right handed at the five sixteenths pole closing in and doggedly wore down the leader through the stretch to get up just before the winner for the win. FOOLISH GAMES had a slim lead in the two path from the outer post in the early going, spurted clear along the fence at the five eighths pole, narrowly maintained the advantage inside through the turn, edged away for a greater lead inside in upper stretch but could not fend of the stubborn winner who got up in the late stages. MIZZEN ASH settled near the rear ahead of only run runner down the backside, made a quick move three wide going around horses smartly at the quarter pole, angled out widest having clear run in the six path in upper stretch and was closing in late but could not just get to the front two in deep stretch. CEFALO had a stalking trip on the rail in the beginning, was scrubbed on for more taking the short way around the bend but was losing ground to others through the turn and with a good rail rally in the stretch got up for a minor placing in the end. HOT OMELET was tucked on the fence watching the contesting duo along the backside, kept pace with the front two running around the turn, shifted just outside to be three wide at the top of the lane in the hunt for a share. PLUIE D'AVRIL had a stalking trip on the outside down the backstretch, made no movement outside rivals on the oval, angled out to the five path straightening for home but lacked a rally in the stretch. GABBY SQUARED travelled outside in mid-pack rating kindly in the beginning, measured the engaged duo while outside another challenger around the bend, had a chance for a piece of the prize four wide at the top of the lane but tired between horses at the eighth pole. ASHCAR NELLIE was allowed to settle at the rear in the early going, made no impact running off the fence two or three wide around the turn and made little presence in the stretch running.
