Footnotes
SPEAK UP stalked near the rear on the fence, improved inside along the backstretch to sit in midfield by the half, shifted outside off tiring foes reaching for more ground at the quarter pole, smartly burst through rivals in the five path at the eighth pole and got up just in time, getting to the leader a few strides before the wire. RUTHLESS ACTION rated kindly tracking the frontrunner outside in the early stages, edged up outside through the bend, bid for the lead inside the quarter pole, grinded away on the horses up front down the lane, took control three wide between foes with a sixteenth to run but just missed holding off the winner outside in the late stages. ABINO BAY was pushed out by the inside foe on the start, stalked three deep on the outside ahead of the other poor starter, made little progression around the oval, was looking for a seam to get clear run in the four path turning for home, had a clear lane by mid-stretch and with good late energy, split foes in the final seventy yards to get up for the show money in the last few jumps. SPELLCHECK settled in the middle of the pack in the four path with another foe outside along the back straight, crept up between foes three wide on the bend, angled out in the six path and kept on trying to the end and settled on the fringes with that solid effort. BABY LALA had a stalking role on the inside down the backstretch, came under a vigorous ride but was making no headway staying inside around the oval in the three path between rivals and finished up mildly late while trying to duel for a minor placing in deep stretch. FAULTFINDER settled in midfield between foes at the half in the two path, made a mild move through the turn chasing the top pair to be in the mix between horses at the furlong marker, could not find more late and stalled in deep stretch. DESIGN DIVA travelled five deep in midfield outside horses, steadily advanced four wide outside foes around the bend, swung out widest in the seven path with a chance for a share of the prize but finished up one paced in the last furlong. SILENT SUNSHINE broke out on the break, cleared outside, getting to the rail setting pace entering the backstretch, rolled along up top through the turn, was collared outside leaving the quarter pole, dug back in spurting away briefly by upper stretch, began to get leg weary clinging onto the lead at the furlong marker and retreated inside foes losing positions in deep stretch. CHERVONARUTA tracked the pacesetter while in the second tier on the fence along the backside, was asked to go after the lead pair at the quarter pole but could not gain on rivals and yielded on the rail by the furlong marker. RADIO GOO GOO broke outwards and had to be taken hold off to trail the field along the backside, closed the gap slightly taking the short way around the turn but had little finish to give inside runners to the wire.
