PHILLIP MY WINE travelled three wide, contently watching the front two rivals set the pace, crept up still going in the three path around the bend, shifted out in the five path bidding for the lead when straightening out for home and grinded away between foes to get up just before the wire to win the blanklet finish. PARADISE PERFECT was slow into stride trailing in the beginning, started to pick up runners inside at the half, angled out widest in the seven path having clear run for the drive and closed in sharply outside to almost time the nod at the wire for the victory with that late charge. COUNTRYBOYSURVIVE dictated the pace just up front in the early going, continued on narrowly leading this field on the rail through the turn, stubbornly was still clinging onto the lead inside challengers in the two path in the stretch running but faded ever so slightly late and was on the losing end of the three-way photo for the win. CONN SMYTHE (GB) was isolated in the middle of the pack down the back straight, closed in through the turn outside, shifted out off the leaders six wide in upper stretch with a chance but could only finish up one paced for a minor share in the end. WAGSTAFF drafted behind the leader down the backstretch, patiently waited on the fence behind the lead trio around the turn, had clear run inside runners skimming the rail turning for home but had not finish to offer in the later stages of the race. PIN BOY hounded the pace between rivals in the early going, moved in closer to battle outside throughout the turn, was in the mix up top in the three path with runners on each side down the stretch, could not continue on late and wilted in the last sixteenth. SOMEKINDA MISCHIEF was washed out prior to the start, stalked outside ahead of one rival along the backside, made no impact seeing the field around the turn and had nothing to offer, losing touch with the pack in upper stretch.
