OLD CHESTNUT broke sharp, was nudged for more to make sure he secured the rail position on the lead along the backside, rolled along, quickening the tempo around the turn, having diminishing lead with five sixteenths to go, spurted away when roused for more at the top of the lane and was kept to the task to the wire to hold comfortably for the front running score. SIMCOE sat just outside off the pacesetter rating kindly along the backside, edged up outside by midturn, could not quicken with the winner turning for home, chased the winner in vain while not switching leads down the stretch and held for the runners up share. OKIRO was relegated to the back still quite in touch with the front two down the backside under a quick pace, made little headway in the two path behind the contesting duo midway around the bend, shifted to the three path in upper stretch but could not rally to the finish to threaten the other rivals.
