Footnotes
SULTANA was pinballed between rivals on the break, stalked on the backstretch having only one runner beaten, began to pick up runners impressively three wide midway around the last turn reaching for more ground, was in full flight six wide continuing to swoop around runners at the top of the stretch, moved past the leader at the sixteenth pole with a powerful sustained outside rally. SWEET SURRENDER stalked outside close to the back of the pack under a tight hold, closed in smartly three wide outside rivals down the back straight, cruised four wide sweeping past horses with five sixteenths to go, had aim on the leader four wide in upper stretch, ran on determinedly down the lane but was outdueled by the winner outside in the final furlong while easily beating the rest of the field for the runners up share at the finish. WORKOUT AFFAIR dictated the pace on the fence, was pressed by outside company by the half, put away the two outside challengers by the five sixteenths pole to open up on a clear lead again, held her own three wide keeping the advantage in upper stretch, was no match for the top two giving way at the sixteenth pole and held on to save the show money when crossing the finish line. STARSHIP SERENITY was bumped on the break, had to throttle down, checking mildly when trying to advance on the rail at the seven eighths pole being shut off by an outside rival angling in through the first turn, dropped behind entering the backstretch on the rail, narrowed the margin by the half, had no room behind three runners at the three eighths marker, rallied smartly four wide on the outside with a quarter mile to go and in the six path driving to the wire showed a good late running effort to get up to be a fringe player in the end. D'AURUM had good forward position on the fence behind the front pair early on, maintained a close eye on the lead trio while still sitting on the rail along the backside, chased the frontrunner under a vigorous ride through the far turn to be in the mix in the two path turning for home but faded late and was caught in the last sixteenth losing out a minor placing at the wire. NICKI IS A BREEZE was smartly reined back trying to avoid a wider trip into the first turn, travelled three wide advancing around the first of two turns, began to lengthen stride into the backstretch but had to be throttled down at the nine sixteenths pole with nowhere to go between runners and was shuffled back losing momentum, offered a brief rally three wide at the three eighths pole, shifted out the five path turning for home and could only finish up gradually through the stretch. MIA MITOLE was hustled early on, in tight between runners three wide in midfield on the first turn, made no movement still in the middle of things along the backside with runners on either side and made little impact in the four path never factoring in the stretch running. OUTFORARIP broke in at the start, travelled six wide between runners trying to get position in mid-pack through the first turn, progressed in early backstretch to sit in the second flight, three deep on the outside, kept pace but was hard ridden in midfield on the far turn and in the two path for the stretch drive finished up evenly to the wire. SERENADING KITTEN was floated out seven wide into the first turn, continued the wide journey but advanced in the initial bend to prompt three deep along the backside, was urged for more three wide between foes to go after the pacesetter midway on the last turn but making little headway and faltered in the three path by mid-stretch. QUALITY PRESENCE tracked between horses three wide on the first turn, closed in along the backstretch to press the issue between foes by the half, had enough dueling up top three wide between rivals by the quarter pole, shifted to the fence for the stretch drive and yielded further at the furlong marker. NASHYAN angled in, getting to the rail midway around the first turn to sit in mid-pack, waited for room on the fence at the half, was roused at the five sixteenths pole but was going in the wrong direction in the far turn and came up empty four wide at the top of the lane. MO ARGENTO was pushed in at the break, settled in the third flight while between rivals in the two path, tracked the lead trio along the backside with rivals on both sides, came under a ride but was being passed outside by horses through the far turn and had no rally, showing little in the stretch on the fence. MY EMMY settled at the rear going three wide into the first turn, was checked a couple of times into the initial bend fighting the riders restraint, lagged behind along the backside making little gain, caught up to runners leaving the far turn angling six wide but could not get involved in the stretch running.
