FIGHTER IN THE WIN moved well hounding the pace inside, not letting the frontrunner get to the rail along the backside, assumed command when let out a notch on the fence at the five sixteenths marker, was well in control in the two path at the top of the stretch, repelled a brief challenge by the furlong marker and was kept to the task to hold safely from the late closing runner up. EMBRACE MY UNCLE stalked outside in the third tier in the early going, began to lengthen stride smartly four wide at the quarter pole, was gaining steadily in the stretch, did not switch leads until late, closed in deep stretch but could not get to the winner in time. THIS DUDE A BREEZE travelled outside watching the lead two down the back straight, inched up three wide midway around the bend, loomed in the three-path turning for home, was repelled by the winner in mid-stretch and was no match for the top two finishers when crossing the finish line. LOBBY BAR was allowed to settle, trailing down the backside, began to pick up runners outside with three eighths remaining, shifted outside gathering more momentum five wide straightening out for home and finished with intent to settle on the fringes at the wire. GALVASTON settled on the inside in the second flight tracking the lead pair, waited behind the contesting duo nestled on the fence waiting for clear run around the bend, was in the mix inside at the top of the stretch but when clear lacked a rally through the stretch. YORKVILLE broke in at the start, had a stalking inside position in the third pairing down the backside, regressed on the fence around the oval to see the field entering the lane and managed to pass the leg weary early frontrunner in upper stretch. HEAT MERCHANT had a slim lead outside down the back straight, relinquished the front, offering no resistance to the winner in midturn, backed away in the three path between rivals through the bend and emptied out by upper stretch.
