MALDINI was brushed outside on the break, stalked near the rear early on, was last, seeing this field at the half mile pole, started to rally, swooping three wide around foes with five sixteenths from home, continued with a good run in the six path at the top of the lane, drifted in taking control while urged right handed at the furlong marker and got up in deep stretch for the late running win. CABERNAYDO settled on the outside in mid-division, closed the gap down the back straight, ranged up four wide around the final bend, fought on between foes in the five path down the lane, was checked in tight surroundings with an eighth still to run and came back late to get up for the runners up share, winning the nod at the line. PIERRE travelled on the outside watching the two front rivals, moved in smartly under a snug hold down the backside, bid three wide between runners at the three eighths marker, battled determinedly in the hunt in the three path in the stretch drive, drifted out when asked left handed dueling up top with a furlong to go and just missed the battle for second money at the wire in a close photo. BOWMAN'S RUN broke in at the start, travelled inside foes in mid-pack, crept up on the fence with a half mile remaining, was steadied just when starting a rally coming up to the quarter pole behind a tiring runner, resurged shifting inwards from the three path at the furlong marker with a chance and finished up on the fence in the final sixteenth with a game try getting a minor share in the end. MOTION GRANTED was hustled on the outside taking a clear and quick lead into the first of two turns, continued up top but by a narrow margin at the half, was headed outside by rivals three furlongs from home, found more under encouragement leaving the quarter pole, fought on stubbornly until the sixteenth pole in the two path with challengers on either side and had nothing left to give in deep stretch. CONACHER was content to let the frontrunner go and while isolated second, tracked the leader into the first turn, inched up down the backstretch, dueled between foes at the three eighths marker, retreated up top midway on the last turn, was urged under a right handed crop at the quarter pole digging back in momentarily on the fence in upper stretch but folded at the furlong marker. DROP YOUR GLOVES stalked near the rear in the beginning, made little headway along the backside, showed little between foes around the far turn and could not factor in the stretch running. COMPTON was void of early speed trailing in the beginning, made an early move three deep passing runners outside along the backstretch, could not continue on and was going the wrong way three wide on the far turn and emptied out in the six path by upper stretch. STEWARDS INQUIRY AND RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #6 CABERNAYDO AGAINST #2 MALDINI AT THE FURLONG POLE RESULTED IN #2 MALDINI BEING DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED SECOND FOR INTERFERENCE
