Footnotes
MEGALODON had an inside trip while in the middle of the pack on the first bend, improved smartly going between rivals along the backside, mounted a rally shifting out from the third flight three wide at the quarter pole, pounced in the four path straightening out for home, seized command inside the furlong marker drifting in while taking the lead and held safe at the finish for the stretch running win. FABER was in the middle of the pack having outside position in the early stages, began to pick up runners outside when roused for run at the seven sixteenths pole, circled runners going five wide with a quarter mile to run and finished up willingly to best the rest for the runners up share in the stretch running. TOUR THE CITY had an outside position keeping a close eye on the front duo, tracked in the second flight outside by the half, moved in through the turn to bid in the two path turning for home, dueled inside down the lane, had to be checked leaving the eighth pole on the fence giving way to the winner, shifted outside late and held on to be a clear third at the finish line. CAPTAIN JUNUH was well back in the early stages, finally caught up to runners making a good rally in the two path with rivals on each side with a quarter mile remaining and while still just off the fence, finished with good late energy to win the battle for the minors inside another at the wire. MAP'S A BREEZE travelled on the outside in mid-division, made little progression just off the fence along the backside between horses, offered a mild run when hard ridden at the quarter pole, angled out six wide and found more late, gaining outside but lost the duel for the minors in deep stretch by a nod. GRAFFITI WRITER was nestled on the fence watching the frontrunner after the break, was shuffled back a few positions down the backstretch, kept pace when scrubbed for more around the final oval and finished up mildly down the lane in tight quarters between rivals at the sixteenth pole. GOOD KING SAM tracked the loose frontrunner around the first bend, closed in at the half in the two path between foes, inched up on the far turn, was looking for a seam behind foes coming into the stretch two to three wide, could not offer a finishing kick and faded three wide at the furlong marker. TIMES A BREEZE had a rail trip ahead of one runner in the beginning, advanced on the fence down the back straight, dropped back then was asked under right-handed encouragement midturn, skimmed the fence making a little run and passed a couple of tired rivals while three wide in upper stretch. EXUDE settled three wide close to the back of the pack, made little change going three deep on the outside down the backstretch, continued a three wide journey having no run around the final turn and made little impression in the six path in the stretch running. YLIVOIMAINEN broke in on the start, was hustled to the lead setting a lively pace on the rail early on, rolled along unchallenged up top down the backside, roused while clinging onto the lead inside around the last turn, was engulfed by outside runners in upper stretch and folded soon afterwards. SOUTHERN STYLE stalked near the rear between horses on the first turn, fell behind with something appearing to be amiss at the half mile marker, was eased through the far turn, pulled up in upper stretch and walked off. RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #11 TOUR OF THE CITY AGAINST #5 MEGALODON IN THE VICINITY OF THE EIGHTH POLE RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
