Footnotes
MS. TART was in just a bit tight shortly after the start, settled at the back outside, had to take the overland route through the turn fanning eight to nine wide into upper stretch, rallied widest and drove past late. READY TO JAM had inconsequential contact at the start but was in a little tight soon after, chased mid-pack into the turn, raced three to five wide throughout, bid in upper stretch taking a narrow lead in mid-stretch, drifted about a bit in the lane, led late but was outfinished. TICKER TAPE HOME was in tight quarters early and tapped on the brakes before shifting in a bit to race nearer but off the rail in the early stages, advanced mildly three to four wide on the turn, fanned five to six deep for the drive, made steady progress in upper- to mid-stretch, was outkicked by the top ones. GAL IN A RUSH took back and shifted in early, saved ground at the rear near the inside, shifted out leaving the turn racing six to eight deep by upper stretch, rallied mildly between runners, kept on but needed more. METAPHYSICAL settled off the leaders inside, dropped back along the rail, shifted three to four wide into upper stretch, altered out in mid- then late-stretch seeking room, finished with late interest to improve position but was too late to threaten the top ones. TOUPIE was a bit worked up in the paddock but settled down soon after, was well-behaved in the post-parade, got away well and quickly moved clear set the pace just off the rail, weakened in the stretch. DANCING DUCHESS exchanged minor brushing at the start, stalked the pace from the two to three path early, moved nearer the rail on the turn still just in behind the leader, moved out near the furlong grounds, ran on but failed to rally. FREEDOM SPEAKS tracked up close inside saving ground through the turn, came out five wide in the stretch, failed to rally. WEEHAWKEN settled off the pace, raced outside foes into the turn going four to five wide on that bend and floating wider still turning into upper stretch, flattened out. EARHART (FR) was up close outside pursuing the pacesetter three to four wide, began to advance nearing the half, was within range looming a threat coming to the top of the stretch but faltered by mid-stretch and faded the final furlong.
