WITHOUT CAUSE travelled well, hounded the pace on the outside down the back straight under a snug hold, ranged up confidently, measuring the pacesetter around the oval, seized command at the three sixteenths marker outside and was kept to the task to hold safely for the win at the wire. HOSHIANA (FR) broke in at the start, co-trailed on the outside in the early running, started to reach for more ground smartly moving in by midturn, shifted out five wide at the quarter pole having a good rally, drifted inwards down the stretch even while encouraged with a left handed crop but still determinedly chased the winner home offering a good late surge. SHOTGUN WEDDING brushed the inside of the gate on the start to co-trail inside another down the backside, lagged well behind the field in the running around the bend, shifted out widest in the six path for the drive to the wire and was full of run in the final furlong to close in sharply to be a clear third at the finish line. PARTY ON tracked the lead pair while on the outside of a challenger in the early stages, angled to the four path having a clear running late turning for home but could only finish up one paced late and lost the battle for the third money in deep stretch. MISS DEMANDING was nestled on the rail in the second flight, kept pace behind the contesting twosome saving all the ground on the turn, shifted outside just off the rail behind the leader in the mix for a piece of the prize at the quarter pole but lacked a finish down the stretch. HALEY'S HONOR was nudged along having a slim advantage on the rail in the beginning, maintained a narrow lead inside through the turn, was collared outside by the winner at the head of the stretch, offered little resistance by the three sixteenths pole and faltered inside of foes in the final sixteenth of a mile.
