Footnotes
MIZZEN ASH was pushed out on the break to patiently settle into stride at the rear into the first turn, took closer order in the two path along the backside, shuffled back to last again with three eighths remaining, started to uncork a rally three wide midway around the final bend and was full of run widest in the six path for the stretch drive to storm past rivals taking command at the furlong marker. ASHBURY kept a close eye on the frontrunner outside on the first turn, inched up to shadow the leader outside along the backstretch, poked its head in front between horses with five sixteenths to go, briefly edged clear three wide in upper stretch, ran on to the wire but just could not fend off the winner who had all the momentum outside in deep stretch. BRAVO KATE broke out on the start, was hard held while four wide going between runners in mid-pack on the first of two turns, travelled on the outside in midfield with the field tightly grouped at the half, moved in menacingly three wide through the last bend to be in the hunt between foes battling up top three wide in mid-stretch, could not continue the rally and stalled in the late stages to be a clear third in the end. OLD FASHIONED GIRL settled near the rear on the rail in the beginning, trailed the closely bunched field at the half, made little headway through the far turn, was in tight quarters in upper stretch looking for a path and sharply burst between rivals having clear run at the sixteenth pole to get up for a minor share. PLUIE D'AVRIL was brushed inside on the start, travelled five wide going into the first turn close the back outside horses, advanced three deep between foes at the half, made a brief move three wide midpoint on the last turn but failed to fire three wide in the stretch drive. LADY IN RED assumed command using the inside post going into the first turn, continued to set an even tempo while hounded outside along the backstretch, was collared with five sixteenths from home up top on the rail, had little left to offer in the stretch running and folded inside rivals with a furlong from home.
