Footnotes
JET SWEEP JOE settled on the outside ahead of only one runner along the backside, started to make a rally outside, passing horses three wide at the three eighths marker, angled to the four-path gathering more speed and with a good, sustained stretch run and wore down rivals to get up just before the wire for the victory. ITS TIME TO SHINE settled on the outside, watching the loose front-end runner roll along down the backside, was scrubbed on with three eighths to go trying to go after the pacesetter in the two path, chased the leader just off the fence with a quarter mile remaining, shifted out closing in on the tiring early leader by mid-stretch, could not fend off the winner who had all the momentum on the outside late but did stay on gamely to best the rest for the runners up share at the finish line. ARTEMUS CITYLIMITS had a tracking role inside a rival in the early going, was checked on the fence in tight quarters with two furlongs from home, shifted out to be three wide at the top of the lane and while staying on the incorrect lead between foes to the wire still fought on stubbornly to be a clear but non-threatening third. ROI SOLEIL was void of early speed to trail the field along the backstretch, caught up to rivals on the outside with two furlongs from the prize, swung out widest in the seven path turning for home and finished up mildly in the late stages to catch the tiring early leader right at the finish line for a minor role. SPEED FIGURES was hustled from the outer post to get to the fence setting a brisk pace on the lead, continued to rattle on under a rapid pace unchallenged around the bend, still maintained a clear lead at the top of the stretch, started to get leg weary by the furlong marker from his early efforts and wilted on the rail in the last sixteenth. HE SHOOTS HE WINS was inside another rival while in the third flight stalking down the backside, could not keep up to rivals who were making a run through the turn and while on the rail until shifting out in the two path in deep stretch, could not get into contention in the stretch running.STEWARDS INQUIRY AND RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #1 ARTEMUS CITYLIMITS AGAINST #2 ITS TIME TO SHINE AT THE QUARTER POLE RESULTED IN #2 ITS TIME TO SHINE BEING DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED THIRD FOR INTERFERENCE
