HANLAN was forwardly placed on the outside at the start, contently sat just off the pace on the outside down the backstretch, moved in outside around the turn to force the issue at the quarter pole, battled determinedly outside down the entire lane and just got the better of the stubborn frontrunner in deep stretch when inching away in the final seventy yards for the victory. WALTER ME LAD comfortably lead on the rail in the beginning, moved well along the turn, was headed outside at the quarter pole, slugged it out never wavering inside down the stretch and gave way ever so slightly in the final seventy yards to just miss out on the gate to wire score. JAMIESTA had a stalking role ahead of one rival down the backside, progressed smartly inside saving all the ground around the turn, rallied on the fence to be in the hunt up top in briefly upper stretch but was no match for the front duo by the furlong pole and finished up well enough still to safely hold for the show money at the wire. ENCHANT ME stalked near the rear on the outside in the beginning, narrowed the gap but could not improve position while outside in the two path around the bend, found more when encouraged between foes at the eighth pole and ran on willingly to settle on the fringes at the finish line. SOUPER SUCCESS had a good spot all alone watching the front pair at the half, chased the engaged duo through the turn making little gain, shifted out to the three path for the drive and finished up evenly in deep stretch losing out for the duel for a minor share in the end. HEAT MERCHANT was isolated in mid-pack at the half, held outside position while going two to three wide around the oval, drifted out to be widest in the six-path turning for home and could not get involved having no rally in the final furlong. BREAK THE SPELL was void of early speed seeing the field along the backside, was asked for more but remained well back through the running on the bend and could not get into gear down the stretch to play a role in the late stages.
