REACH FOR THE TOP was in the mix between horses at the start, poked her head in front with a half mile left to go, dueled head to head on the outside through the turn and got the better of the early speed foe at the eighth pole to edge away in the three path in deep stretch. TENTOMIDNIGHT had a slim lead on the rail after the break, relinquished the lead inside at the half, countered to regain a short lead by the three furlong pole, battled on the rail inside the winner until the furlong marker and just had enough late to save for the second place prize at the finish line. KIMBERLINA prompted three deep on the start, dropped back to have an ideal spot, isolated, watching the engaged duo at the half, could not reel in the contesting pair when roused in midturn, angled out four wide for the drive and closed in belatedly almost getting the runners up share in the final jump outside. LA BELVA settled on the rail in midfield, tracked the front twosome in the second flight with an outside rival through the bend, dueled for the show spot on the fence in upper stretch, shifted out three wide at the furlong marker and finished up well enough for a minor placing in the end. HEBRIDEAN MISS was off slowly to trail the pack down the back straightaway, was roused at the half to stay involved, picked up a runner on the inside by the five sixteenths pole but could not get involved the running down the lane. RING BIT had a stalking role ahead of only the poor starter along the backside, could see the field by the midpoint through the turn, shifted outside, five wide at the top of the lane but had little to offer in the stretch drive.
