DANSE MACABRE settled in behind tracking the pace, was bumped hard near the eighth pole, recovered and moved out while continuing to grind out and just got up in the shadow of the wire. WITHOUT CAUSE was quick to the take the lead, moved clear and shifted in to dictate terms just off the rail, led late but was just collared. UPHILL DANCE exchanged minor contact early while in a bit tight between and behind, bided time on the turn, launched a mild move leaving that bend coming into upper stretch five wide, drifted in and bumped a rival at the furlong marker, ran on. GOLDEN CANARY settled, was last into the turn, came out seven wide for the drive, ran on but needed more. ZANA moved forward outside stalking three wide into the turn, was within range coming into upper stretch but was bumped hard into a rival about the eighth pole and was not a threat thereafter. CHROMEPLATED HEART bumped a rival at the start, was in traffic throughout the whole of the early going clipping heels and steadying slightly, raced inside foes ta the back on the turn, came out six wide in the stretch, made no bid. MAY MAY STRONG was bumped at the start, switched out and made a mild advance outside foes four wide on the turn, came out eight wide, was not a factor late. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY, UPHILL DANCE WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM THIRD AND PLACED FIFTH BEHIND ZANA FOR INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH.
