SIPPING HISTORY was quite content isolated watching the lone speed along the backstretch, measured the leader on the turn while starting to close the gap with five sixteenths to go, pounced three wide in upper stretch, opened up quickly by the furlong marker and comfortably crossed the finish line for the win. SUPERFLY CHICK was away slowly to see the field on the fence down the back straight, started to reach for more ground midway on the turn, passed a rival inside rallying at the quarter pole, angled out in the six path gathering speed at the top of the stretch and with a solid late run got up to be a non-threatening runner up showing grit after the poor start. CAPTAIN CLUTCH had the rail position in midfield down the backside, continued to save ground on the turn while scrubbed on for more at the five sixteenths pole trying to get to the front pair, rallied in the two path in upper stretch spurting away from others, could not get to the winner who was long gone, did fight on for the place share inside late but just missed holding for second money a few strides before the finish line. LAPIN DE PLAGE was in the third flight three deep on the outside down the backstretch, continued the three wide journey around the turn but was making little headway on the top two runners, shifted out five wide in the mix for a piece of the prize, was one paced in the final furlong but did pick up the leg weary frontrunner at the wire for a minor share. SOUPER SPORTY was hustled on the rail to be loose up top along the backside setting a brisk pace, continued to roll along up top on the bend but by a diminishing margin at the quarter pole, was collared outside by the winner straightening out for the drive, offered no resistance and wilted on the fence in the final seventy yards. FLEURY had runners on both sides while in the third flight in the early stages, tried to hold position between foes but was in tight leaving the quarter pole, was bumped outside in the four path turning for home and weakened on the fence with a sixteenth still to run. FLYING SCHULZY had an outside stalking trip ahead of only the poor starter along the backside, made little impact just off the fence around the bend, was floated out seven wide by the inside rival at the top of the lane and could not factor in the stretch running. STEWARDS GENERAL INQUIRY AT THE QUARTER POLE RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
