BACKONTHECHAINGANG was under a tight hold early along the inside just off the leaders, saved ground on the turn biding time, bid up the rail past the furlong marker, took a narrow lead in deep stretch and prevailed. RED PHARAOH stalked from outside going five wide into the turn, dropped back a bit early on that bend, allowed a rival to come up inside, was forced out and bumped by that one turning for home, bid near the eighth pole, kept on but was outfinished. CRUCIAL TAUNT settled outside at the rear, began to advance moving out from three wide late on the turn, fanned five to six deep between foes turning for home and bumped the outer rival at that juncture, ran on but needed more. BENNYS JETS set a pressured pace near the rail, was challenged in earnest by outside foes coming past the quarter pole, shook clear coming into upper stretch, was challenged in mid-stretch and weakened. DONTGOBACKONURWORD pressed from between foes two to three wide into the turn, made a mild bid under urging at the quarter pole, lugged out a path turning for home, weakened in the stretch. MAGIC POWER was forwardly-positioned pressing three to four wide between foes, moved closer to contend for the lead coming to the quarter pole, floated out a bit turning for home, faded.
