PURR FACTOR dueled inside in the early part of the backstretch running, inched away on the fence by the half, moved comfortably inside dictating terms up front around the bend, spurted away from the early speed foe two wide turning for home and kept finding more down the stretch when called upon to prevail at the wire for the frontrunning score. HAPPY VALENTINE had a good spot rating kindly on the rail watching the engaged twosome while inside two others down the backside, had horse waiting for the cue to move just behind the lead pair on the turn, shifted out three wide bursting between rivals posing the main opposition at the head of the lane, ran on gamely down the stretch but just could not get by the winner who kept on going until the end. GLORIANNIA had an outside trip in midfield going three deep along the backside, kept pace with the leaders tracking in the second flight outside through the oval, angled out five wide between horses in upper stretch and found something more in the last sixteenth of a mile to surge through horses in the late running to just get the show money at the wire. ANAM CARA had little early foot seeing the field outside at the half, made a good rally commencing three wide going around horses at the three eighths pole, continued to circle foes through the turn to be six wide in the mix straightening out for home and finished up mildly outside challengers to just get nabbed for the third-place share at the finish line. SOCIETY'S KAT leapt up at the start to trail the field leaving the chute, was eager stalking inside at the half under a tight hold, improved smartly on the fence around the turn, shifted out four wide at the top of the lane, angled back inside to be on the rail making a run at the furlong pole fighting for the show award late but faded nearing the wire losing a couple of positions in the end. GARNET AND GOLD shadowed the frontrunner outside down the backstretch, was nudged for more to try to apply pressure on the leader outside midway on the turn, was still in the hunt four wide turning for home but had little left in the late running and wilted in the final sixteenth. SPIRIT BEAR travelled in mid-division between horses in the early going, was scrubbed on at the three eighths pole but was going the wrong way through the turn, shifted out to the four path in tight quarters losing momentum in upper stretch and could not get involved in the final furlong.
