Footnotes
MIAH SAID was quite content to watch the lone speed scoot away down the backside, started to reel in the frontrunner with a quarter mile to go, had aim on the pacesetter reaching for more ground at the top of the stretch and with a good, sustained stretch kick got up right at the finish line for the win. COME ON BIG LOU was loose on the lead setting a brisk pace along the backstretch, rattled along well in control running around the with having no challengers, continued up top by a diminishing advantage beginning to get leg weary at the eight pole and could not find something in reserve late to fend off the winner right at the wire. PROFESSOR RELOAD lost on iron at the start, stalked in the third flight between rivals in the early going, commenced a rally closing the gap at the half, rider lost both his irons at the seven sixteenths pole, retreated mildly while only getting out slightly on the turn and with a determined ride still with the jockey unable to get his feet in the stirrups down the stretch closed in to get up for the show award in the end. WESTMORE was unhurried lagging well back in the early going, started to pick up runners outside midway on the turn, battled two wide for a minor role turning for home, settled on the fringes in the end but almost closed in late for the show money as well. Z HUB had a stalking position on the rail along the backside, regressed taking the short way around the turn, dueled on the fence for a small piece of the prize in mid-stretch but needed more late to factor at the finish line. BIG LEW broke sharp to have the front after the start, dropped back through the backstretch going three deep outside runners to have a stalking role at the half, offered a mild run on the rail with five sixteenths to go but folded in the three path when shortening stride on the wrong lead in deep stretch.
