Footnotes
APRIL DE VELP was bumped inside at the start, settled three deep watching the front pair down the back straight, edged up going three wide on the turn outside rivals, posed a threat shifting to the four path finding another gear at the top of the lane and drove past the inside rival at the sixteenth pole to win going away in the end. SLOANS SKY co-trailed on the inside in the early stages, kept pace saving ground but was at the rear position through the turn, rallied smartly on the fence straightening out for home, came with a good run inside horses at the furlong marker but could not get to the winner in the late running. SHAMRA tracked between rivals after the break, inched up on the front runner just outside around the oval, vied three wide between horses in mid-stretch up top, did not switch leads fading mildly through the lane but did hold on for the show money at the wire. KAVALA co-trailed on the outside down the backstretch, was nudged for more two wide making no gain on the front three around the bend, angled out three wide making little impression in upper stretch, trailed at the furlong pole but did come on late to catch the tiring frontrunner at the wire for a position. STRIKE A CHORD bobbled breaking outwards on the start, recovered quickly to be clear up top on the rail midway down the backstretch, set a modest pace unopposed around the turn, was on the wrong lead through the stretch shortening stride trying to hold the lead late but folded with a sixteenth of a mile left to run. DUE TO A LATE EQUIPMENT ISSUE...#6 KAVALA RACED WITH NO RIGHT HIND SHOE
