Footnotes
LUSTER was nestled on the fence tracking the pacesetter, waited for the cue to go on the rail just behind the leader through the turn, moved in to be up front skimming the fence at the head of the lane, powered past runners when set down at the furlong pole and cruised home for the dominant score. EL BARRIO was allowed to settle at the rear in the early stages, started to get into gear reaching for more ground on the rail in upper stretch, had a sharp turn of foot inside horses at the eighth pole, could not get to the overpowering winner in deep stretch but did finish up strongly to best the rest for the place award. LA CULASSE was content to sit on the outside of the leader down the backside, still remained just outside shadowing the pacesetter around the bend, shifted out three wide battling for the top spot turning for home, was no match for the winner in the last eighth of a mile and just missed dueling for second money in deep stretch. UNDERCOVER AGENT was moving comfortably up top along the backstretch, travelled well in hand dictating the pace around the bend, had company on each side clinging onto the lead two wide in upper stretch, offered no resistance to the winner shooting by on the rail at the furlong pole and faded between rivals trying to save the runners up share in the last seventy yards. BACKSTREET EMMA bore out on the start, recovered to sit in mid-pack between foes along the backside, dropped back slightly to stalk near the rear around the turn, shifted out to the four path turning for home but failed to fire in the stretch running. CONTRARY MARY co-trailed on the outside midway along the backside, made a brief move going three wide at the half trying to circle around runners on the turn, could not continue the rally four wide by the five sixteenths pole and emptied out in upper stretch.
