FUN FELLA stalked on the outside ahead of only one runner in the beginning stages, took closer order by the half, started to mount a rally circling runners three wide midway on the final bend, was in full flight six wide turning for home and with a strong late kick got up just before the wire catching the softened-up leader for the stretch running win. CONN SMYTHE (GB) pressed the pace on the outside in the initial bend, continued to duel outside down the backside, poked his head in front outside leaving the far turn, finally got the better of the early speed foe with a sixteenth left to run but by then could not find any more to fend off the late outside charge by the winner at the finish line. COUNTRYBOYSURVIVE stalked in the third flight outside another foe in the early parts of this two-turn race, travelled four wide narrowing the margin around horses at the quarter pole to be in the mix in the five path dueling for third money in upper stretch and finished up surging in the shadow of the wire to just capture the show award. SOUPER EFFECT stalked on the fence close to the back of the pack, made little progression along the back straight, dropped back to last at the five sixteenths pole, angled out from the rail to be six wide at the furlong marker getting clear run from rivals and closed in fast in deep stretch to settle on the fringes winning the tight photo at the wire. WAHEELA stalked on the outside while paired up with another in the third tier, ran on willingly between horses four wide through the stretch but could not find just a little bit more nearing the finish line and was nosed out for a minor placing in the end. ALZADO had a slim lead inside on the first turn, continued up top while hounded outside down the backside, battled inside still going head-to-head up top through the last bend, would not waver inside in the stretch running fighting up front down the stretch but finally conceded to late chargers at the shadow of the wire unable to hold for the show money. PLEASE DON'T GO drafted behind the leader in the early stages, was scrubbed three wide on the far turn trying to keep up to the lead duo a quarter mile from home, stayed on the wrong lead in the two path down the lane and yielded between runners very late losing a couple of positions at the wire. RHUMBABA settled on the rail in midfield on the first turn, made little movement for position but did close the gap at the half, saved ground offering a mild run on the far turn at the quarter pole to be in with a chance for a share turning for home but evened out in the final furlong. BEACH FACTOR was unhurried trailing at the start, made a little run passing a rival outside at the three-furlong pole but could not get involved in the five path in the stretch running. GLOBETROTTING was in the second flight on the outside watching the contesting duo, was nudged for more at the five sixteenths pole but could not keep up to the lead pair on the far turn and folded in the three path by the furlong marker. BLACK THUNDER hopped on the break, travelled six wide outside foes heading into the first of two turns, improved slightly outside horses down the backstretch, retreated between runners at the quarter pole and emptied out three wide with rivals on both sides in upper stretch.
