Footnotes
MIRAMICHI assumed control on the fence with the rider still in the saddle along the backside, shook loose while well in hand midway around the turn, was set down just off the rail in upper stretch holding rivals at the bay and was kept to the task late to hold sway for the frontrunning score. BOUND TO BE TRUE stalked on the rail ahead of only one runner along the back straight, made no progression three wide outside foes in midturn, moved back to the fence commencing a run inside foes at the furlong pole and came charging late to secure the place share while threatening the winner in deep stretch as well. YOU BE THE JUDGE was nestled on the rail watching the front pair down the backstretch, moved up closing the gap when nudged for more on the fence by the five sixteenths pole, posed the main opposition four wide straightening out for home, could not continue the rally stalling outside foes at the sixteenth pole and just missed holding for the place share in the late stages. I GOT MURPHED travelled between runners in the three path keeping a close eye on the leader down the backside, was shuffled back unable to hold position at the three furlong marker, got back into gear widest in the six path at the top of the lane and ran on gradually in the final furlong to only get up for a minor role in the end. TANDHONEYWITHANE was unhurried getting to the fence trailing the field along the backside, lagged behind unable to close in on rivals around the bend but did show some late interest to pass a couple of tired runners in the final eighth of a mile. SPELLCHECK flanked the frontrunner on the outside early on, was hard ridden on the turn but could not quicken with others on each side at the quarter pole and yielded in the two path between runners by the furlong pole. SPEAK UP had a tracking spot travelling four deep outside foes down the backside, narrowed the margin on the leader rallying three wide outside horses at the three-furlong pole, chased the pacesetter but could not make up any ground through the turn, shifted out in the four path between horses for the drive to the wire but showed little while not switching leads in the late running.
