Footnotes
CRYSTAL VISIONS had a good spot on the outside tracking the early pace, edged up between foes with five sixteenths remaining, pounced quickly three wide on the outside in upper stretch taking over control and kept finding more when called upon each time through the lane to hold off the late charge by a couple of closing in rivals on either side at the wire. FOURFIFTYFOUR was hard held drafting behind the leader in the early stages, shifted out off the front pair to have clear run four wide by the furlong marker, closed in late but needed more in deep stretch unable to threaten the winner at the wire but did hold on stubbornly saving for the place award by a nod. ORION BEACH was under a snug hold settling on the fence in midfield, waited on the turn having nowhere to go inside rivals, found daylight skimming the fence at the top of the lane and closed in smartly in the last sixteenth inside horses but just could not get to the top pair in time at the finish line. SHE LOVES stalked near the rear three deep, improved outside foes by the half, tried to make a circling move four wide around horses on the turn, swung out widest in the seven path at the head of the lane in with a chance for a piece of the prize but ran on only mildly to the wire capturing a minor placing in the end. SECRET LOAD co-trailed on the inside, took the short way around the bend at the rear having a quarter mile still to go, did not find a clear lane until the sixteenth pole and finished up with interest under with mild urging in the late going. SPEEDY FREEZE shared the back with another while on the outside, made little movement just off the fence around the oval, shifted three wide for the drive to the wire but failed to fire in the stretch running. BEACH READY stalked close to the back of the pack, closed the gap going three wide outside horses on the bend, angled out looking for running room five wide at the top of the stretch but could not get into contention in the late stages. HAPPY VALENTINE settled between foes in mid-division, kept pace through the turn, found a seam in the five path with runners on either side in upper stretch but could not offer a finish between foes in the final furlong. SILENT SKY travelled three deep in the middle of the pack, inched up going three wide outside runners midway on the turn, angled six wide between rivals straightening out for the drive, lacked a rally in upper stretch and retreated with a furlong still to run. WEEHAWKEN was loose up top getting to the rail by the five eighths pole from the outer post, slowed the tempo down slightly still in control through the turn, surrendered the lead while in the two path to the winner in upper stretch, had nothing left for the late run and was swarmed by runners at the furlong marker.
